Without conscious awareness of our emotions, we risk projecting them onto others which is where bullying begins, whether it’s directed at someone else or even ourselves.
And so, as parents and caregivers, we are responsible for teaching our children that the best way to break the cycle of bullying is to honor our unique qualities, inherent worth, and value, allowing us to extend that same grace to our neighbors around us.
And so, one veteran special education teacher and grateful grandma is passing on her wisdom to empower kids nationwide to embrace their uniqueness and treat themselves with understanding and compassion to create a ripple effect of kindness and put an end to bullying once and for all.
Best-Selling Children’s Author, Mary Young, joins our John Masiulionis and Little Forrest on Episode #217 of PR From The Heart’s Children’s Books Spotlight Series to share her inspiring story, the release of her new children’s book, Pink Shoes (published by Miriam Laundry Publishing), the significance of helping our children to counteract bullying with empathy and self-acceptance, strategies to support kids’ self-esteem, how children’s books can be used to address bullying and promote healing and growth, plus much more.
