The world is full of distractions, and we’re all too familiar with the ones that make it hard to be present. Whether it’s a phone constantly buzzing in your pocket or the constant hum of a TV in the background, sometimes it feels like we can’t get away from technology enough, especially when we are trying to enjoy some quality time with another person.

Therefore, it is vital that we teach our kids how to value their relationships with others. When we do so, we are helping them to develop social skills that will serve them well in life.

One way we can do so is through reading together. When we spend more time reading with them, we are raising them to be active participants in making the world better with their thoughts, ideas, and actions.

And so, one of our neighbors is here for his 3rd trolley stop to share his brand new book, City Under the City. His book serves as a gentle reminder for us not to let anything drive us away from our loved ones.

Award-winning and best-selling children’s author and illustrator, Dan Yaccarino joins our John Masiulionis for Episode #164 of PR From The Heart’s Children’s Books Spotlight Series to talk about how books empower people, the importance of thinking for ourselves, and how we can build a deeper connection with others. Dan also shares how he prepares for his next projects, the significance of actively getting feedback in creating quality works, and the opportunities found in transforming books into animated series.

We encourage you, our fellow neighbors, to support Dan by purchasing your copy of City Under the City and enjoying this empowering read with your little ones: 📖
